Cornering in Indonesian means cornering. Maybe the riders are familiar with the term cornering. When riding, of course, hearing the term cornering is something that makes novice riders feel a little tense, especially for beginners who are just learning to ride a motorcycle. Cornering in road race matches is definitely needed because it is this skill/knowledge that will determine your position whether to win or lose in the event.
When you are studying or doing cornering, don't do it on public roads because it will be fatal. Cornering or people are more familiar with the term BR stands for Belok Rebah. You must understand the basic knowledge of road racing so that mistakes do not occur and the most important thing is to be diligent in training continuously until you can and understand the motor you are using.
Here are some tips and tricks for cornering
Braking Technique
Using the front and rear brakes as well as lowering the gas grip, lower the speed before reaching the corner. This is important when you are doing the downshifting process. When the motor is still in powerful condition and also still driving in a straight position, also make sure that the clutch is released and the gas grip is stable before we reach the environment, then you just have to turn.
Motor Position
Bring/direct the motorbike from the outside of the road first for it then go to the inside of the bend (out to in), preparing to square off when you want to corner. On the highway there are 2 directions, namely the left road and the right road. When you enter a right-hand corner, the outside of the corner is the shoulder/side of the road, while the inside is the one that approaches but does not pass the middle of the road marking, and vice versa for left-hand corners. The principle of "out to in" or square off is very beneficial for the rider, because it can help provide space and also a wide perspective when cornering, square off when cornering is very necessary.
Body Position
Slide your body's load point to the inside of the bend that will be passed. The term in the world of road racing is body steering. If you are on the highway, your body position is too dangling/over out, of course, it will be difficult for the rider himself to maneuver. So if there is a sudden disturbance or danger when cornering, of course it will be troublesome. For beginners, it is enough to just shift the sitting position to be more inclined into the bend, aiming to minimize the occurrence of errors or accidents.
Techniques in Gasing
When your motorbike has started to bend down for cornering on the road, you can open the throttle a little bit gently and slowly to maintain stability and also the speed of the motorbike so it doesn't slow down (deceleration). The purpose of this is to make the motor that we drive more stable, not to chase speed. A common mistake that often occurs when cornering is forgetting to open the gas grip or someone opening the gas grip suddenly while cornering, this will certainly startle your motorbike, overloading the suspension and front tires too much. So that the rear tire traction will be reduced because the center of gravity will shift a lot to the front tires. The principle is actually quite simple in a cornering position, namely "if the gas motor is down (closed) it will be easier to tilt because it is attracted by gravity" on the contrary "if the gas motor is opened it will be like against the force of gravity that will stand up by itself".
When you are finished and have exited the corner, please come back to pull the gas grip by spurring your motorbike to accelerate. When racing, the skill of pulling the gas, transmission, cornering, and understanding the motor used is the key to racing. When the bike has finished cornering, you can start the motorbike by pulling the gas grip and running your motorbike, don't overdo it when you add your transmission (motor gear). Those are some good and right cornering tips and tricks. Keep obeying traffic rules, be a pioneer of traffic safety and make safety a culture of necessity.
