Head of the National Capital Authority (IKN) Nusantara Bambang Susantono said the IKN development project in East Kalimantan would absorb a lot of workers. Hundreds of thousands of people are needed to build the replacement capital for Jakarta.

In 2023 Bambang said there would be around 150-200 thousand workers needed to build IKN.

"In the future there will be quite a large number of workers in the field. So it is estimated that in 2023 we will accommodate 150 to 200 thousand workers in the field," said Bambang, Bambang said after holding a meeting at the State Palace which was broadcast virtually via the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Friday ( 3/6/2022).

Bambang ensured that the community around the IKN project would be involved in the IKN development. Local community involvement schemes are being planned by the IKN Authority.

"Then the condition of how to interact with the community, we also hope that later there will be patterns where the community can be directly involved in this development," said Bambang.

According to him, IKN does need a lot of manpower in its development. How not, his party is being chased by a development target and a large amount of material.

"Why so many? Because in this implementation, because the time is limited and we have several targets, of course the number of workers and later the amount of material will be quite a lot," explained Bambang.
