"The construction of healthy houses in the post-pandemic period is very necessary and needs special attention from the community," said Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, in his statement, Wednesday (22/6/2022).
Iwan said that in 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic began, the house became an inseparable part of daily activities. All activities, even work and children go to school and worship are carried out from home.
Community attachment to the house becomes very attached. In order for the house to be a pleasant place, people need to make their residence a "palace" and make a healthy home in the post-pandemic or new normal.
Furthermore, Iwan explained, after the pandemic, changing the mindset ( mindset ) as well as behavior in people's daily lives. A new normal, a new habit, a new life order, a new normal is a term that refers to the conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic, so that it encourages people to have the readiness to do activities outside the home as optimally as possible, so they can adapt in undergoing new behavior changes.
"A healthy house is a place to live that meets health technical provisions or provisions that must be fulfilled in order to protect the occupants of the house from health hazards or disorders, thus enabling residents to obtain optimal health degrees," he explained.
As stated in PP No. 16 of 2021, that there are four principles of building reliability that must be fulfilled in the construction of houses, including safety, health, comfort, and convenience. Therefore, maintaining the condition of the house to stay healthy is the responsibility of all residents of the house.
"If the house is not properly maintained and even left dirty, it will bring about various diseases, therefore following the requirements regarding the criteria for a healthy home is indeed necessary," he said.
