Wow…PUPR Disburses Rp. 30 Billion for Home Renovation in Gorontalo

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is collaborating with Bank Mandiri, as a funding partner for the 2022 Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in Gorontalo Province. The amount of funds for the BSPS Program that will be distributed by Bank Mandiri in Gorontalo Province is Rp. 30 billion which will be used to improve the quality of houses as many as 1,500 housing units.

"We hope that the housing program from the Ministry of PUPR such as the BSPS Program can help the community, especially the Low-Income Communities (MBR) to have and live in decent housing," said Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, in his statement, Thursday (9/6/). 2022).

Iwan said the PUPR Ministry continued to focus on building housing infrastructure to provide benefits to all communities throughout Indonesia. For this reason, the active role of local governments, communities and the private sector is needed to support the implementation of housing programs in the regions.

"We will continue to encourage the implementation of the BSPS Program or better known as home renovation. The welfare of the community can increase along with the fulfillment of decent houses or housing," he explained.

Head of the Sulawesi I Housing Provision Agency (P2P), Recky W Lahope accompanied by the Head of the Gorontalo Provincial Housing Provision Work Unit, Alwi Mahdali explained that his party was collaborating with Bank Mandiri as the bank channeling funds for the BSPS program based on a performance evaluation carried out in the 2021 fiscal year. Bank Mandiri is considered to have good performance results in the field so as to facilitate the process of distributing aid funds to the community.

For information, based on the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Regulation Number 7 of 2018 concerning BSPS, a mechanism for distributing aid funds is required through channeling banks, so elections are held every year for BSPS channeling banks. The collaboration between the Ministry of PUPR and Bank Mandiri in distributing funds for the BSPS Program has been ongoing since 2019.

The collaboration between the Ministry of PUPR and Bank Mandiri was marked by the signing of a collaboration between the Gorontalo Provincial Housing Provision Work Unit, represented by the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for Private Homes and Public and Commercial Houses, Elvira Monayo and the Head of Bank Mandiri Gorontalo Branch, Darojat Wirabuana at the Maqna Hotel. Gorontalo, witnessed by the Head of the Gorontalo Province Housing Provision Work Unit, Alwi Mahdali.

"We hope that the implementation of the BSPS program in Gorontalo this year can run more smoothly so that the target of improving the quality of housing for the community can be achieved properly," he hoped.

For the implementation of the BSPS Program for Fiscal Year 2022, he added, Gorontalo Province received an allocation of 1,500 units in the first phase which was divided into six cities/regencies, namely Gorontalo City 162 units, Gorontalo Regency 400 units, North Gorontalo Regency 390 units, Boalemo Regency 200 units, Regency Gorontalo Pohuwato 200 units and Bone Bolango Regency 148 units.

"The total budget that will be distributed for the first phase of the BSPS program in Gorontalo is Rp. 30 billion to improve the quality of uninhabitable houses as much as 1,500 units. Each beneficiary will receive Rp 20 million which will be used to purchase Rp 17.5 million for building materials and the remaining Rp 2.5 million for the wages of a handyman,” he said.
