The cheapest electric car in Indonesia is finally officially on sale. Named Air ev, the Wuling Motors (Wuling) electric car assembled in Cikarang, Bekasi, is sold from Rp 250 million to Rp 300 million (estimated price for the DKI Jakarta area).
Wuling Air ev was first introduced in Indonesia in early June 2022. This car has a completely different design from the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. Wuling Air ev looks more modern with a line of LED DRL lights on the front.
The Illuminous Wuling logo on the front also adds a modern impression that makes it very different from other Wuling car models. Turning to the side, there is a futuristic rearview mirror with a floating design, and the Aero-craft cabin window in the second row. The presence of a curved-tech body line combined with a minimalist dual-tone color scheme also makes this vehicle look stylish.
Overall, this GSEV-based electric car carries a versatile compact design that is claimed to be easy to use and drive, and easy for consumers to park in various urban traffic conditions.
Previously, the exterior of Wuling Air ev was officially shown to the public in early June at Central Park, Jakarta. But at that time this car was still named Wuling EV and the price had not been released.
Now coinciding with the 5th anniversary of Wuling Motors Indonesia, Wuling officially gave the name 'Air ev' to its new car product and also officially opened the booking faucet, as well as announcing the official price estimate.
Wuling Air ev is sold at an estimated price for the Jakarta area of IDR 250 million for the standard range variant and IDR 300 million for the long range type. There are five color choices available for Wuling Air ev, namely peach pink, pristine white, galaxy blue, avocado green, and lemon yellow.
When compared to various electric car models that have been previously launched by Tesla, Lexus, Renault, Hyundai, and MINI, Wuling Air ev certainly has a much cheaper price.
