Transactions of used cars are considered to have contributed greatly in encouraging the automotive industry ecosystem. This condition can be seen from the public's enthusiasm for OLX Autos throughout the 2022 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
The management of OLX Autos Indonesia saw the positive enthusiasm of visitors, especially after providing a car inspection capacity of up to 1,500 vehicles. Last year OLX Autos received nearly 500 inspection bookings and successfully inspected more than 300 cars.
"This year, OLX Autos has surpassed almost 100 percent of last year's achievement for booking inspections and car inspections after GIIAS 2022," wrote OLX Autos Indonesia Management in a written answer, Wednesday (31/8/2022).
This increase, according to management, reflects that used car transactions still have a big contribution to encourage the automotive industry ecosystem.
Indeed, during the pandemic, used car transactions are said to have increased quite sharply. Buyers are believed to have continued to car showrooms even though the country's economy was being squeezed at that time.
This condition is inversely proportional to new car sales, at least during the Covid-19 outbreak. In 2020, for example, wholesale car sales were only 388,886 units. Meanwhile, a year later, sales are still in the range of 659,806 throughout 2021.
Meanwhile, the used car industry received a breath of fresh air as the public's interest in four-wheeled vehicles grew during the pandemic. Even the purchase growth is claimed to have increased many times.
“As a place to sell and buy used cars, OLX Autos' business growth has increased significantly. To date, we have managed to serve nearly 5 million customers, both sellers and buyers,” the management wrote.
This achievement is the basis for OLX Autos' commitment to provide the best service for consumers in Indonesia. Since arriving in Indonesia in July 2020, OLX Autos' business growth has increased by 300 percent to date.
In addition, the management of OLX Autos sees the Indonesian automotive industry slowly starting to rise after slumping during the pandemic since mid-2020.
It is said that the recovery of the automotive industry will not occur without the collaboration of all players in the industry. During the pandemic, national industry players jointly pushed for the recovery of the automotive industry as a whole through their respective programs.
“Like this year, we are consistently expanding and developing technological innovations to encourage industrial recovery while expanding the used car trading ecosystem. Meanwhile, we participate in major automotive events such as GIIAS and IMX to be able to contribute to the recovery of the national automotive industry.
