In the past, farmers in Indonesia experienced suffering during the Dutch colonial era. Moreover, Indonesia is an agrarian country and the majority of its people are farmers . The existence of farmers is important for an agrarian country to participate in contributing to improving people's welfare.

Farmers Day "> Farmers Day is history to commemorate the struggle of the peasant . The Indonesian government is trying to formulate a new Agrarian Law so that the welfare of farmers is more secure. In the development of the Agrarian Law, various committees have been formed but failed.
Finally, in 1960, the DPR approved the bill as Law No. 5/1960 on the Basic Regulations on Agrarian Principles, otherwise known as the Agrarian Reform Law (UUPA).
This is the starting point for the birth of a new land law in order to protect the peasants from suffering. This law was born from the spirit of resistance to colonialism, which had robbed the Indonesian people of their human rights during the colonial period.
The UUPA regulates land tenure restrictions, equal opportunities for every citizen to obtain land rights, recognition of customary law, and foreign nationals who do not have property rights.
The UUPA was born on September 24, 1960. So that every 24th, it is celebrated as Farmers Day "> Farmers Day as a form of commemorating the struggle of the farmers in Indonesia.
