1. Udin and Beni will race. The distance to be covered is 350 m. The competition started immediately. By the time Udin had reached the finish line, Beni had only covered 200 m. How many meters does Beni have to go to the finish line?
Answer :
350 m – 200 m = 150 m
So the remaining distance that must be taken by Beni to the finish line is 150 m.
2. The distance between Edo's house and school is 2,500 m. The distance from Siti's house to the school is 4,740 m. How many meters is the difference between Siti and Edo's house from school?
Answer :
4.740 m – 2.500 m = 2.240 m
So, the difference between Siti and Edo's house is 2,240 m from the school.
3. Udin goes to school by bicycle. The distance Udin travels from home to school is 3 km. After traveling 2 km from his house, Udin's bicycle tire burst. Finally, Udin led his bicycle to school. How many km did Udin walk to get to school by bicycle?
Answer :
3 km = 3,000 m
2 km = 2,000 m
3 km – 2 km = 1 km = 1,000 m
So, the distance traveled by Udin to lead the bicycle to the school is 1,000 m.
4. Lani and her family go to Bandung by bus. The distance from Jakarta to Bandung is 130 km.
The bus has covered the distance from Jakarta to Bandung as far as 50,000 m. How many km does the bus have to go?
Answer :
130 km = 130,000 m.
50,000 m = 50 km.
130.000 m – 50.000 m = 80.000 m
80,000 m = 80 km
So, the remaining distance to be traveled by the bus is 80 km.
5. Help Siti determine the distance from home to school!
The distance from Siti's house to the school is 3 times the distance from her house to the market. The distance from the market to the house is 100 m.
How far does Siti have to travel from home to school?
Answer :
3 x 100 m = 300 m
So, the distance that Siti has to travel from home to school is 300 m.
