5 Human Obligations to Forests

1 min read

Humans as living beings are obliged to protect the ecosystem and the surrounding natural environment.

One of them is forest. Humans often use forests in their daily life. For example, forests are used to prevent erosion and maintain soil fertility.

According to Endang Suhendang in the book Introduction to Forestry Science: Forestry as a Science, Activities, and Field of Work (2013), forest is land covered by tall plants and trees.

Forests are not only beneficial for humans, but also for wild animals or animals, such as tigers, elephants, birds, and others.

Man's duty to the forest

Quoted from the book Conservation of Flora and Fauna (2009) by Daryanto, humans must protect and preserve forests.

Because with this, forest sustainability will be maintained, and wildlife will be protected and feel comfortable.

Mention 5 human obligations to the forest !

The five obligations of humans to forests are:

  • It is mandatory not to cut down trees carelessly
  • This means cutting down old trees.
  • Must not burn the forest
  • This means that humans should not burn forests just to clear land or other purposes.
  • Mandatory reforestation in deforested areas
  • After cutting down old trees, humans are obligated to reforest or replant trees in barren forest areas or arid lands.
  • It is mandatory not to throw garbage in the forest
  • Humans are obliged to maintain the sustainability and cleanliness of the forest, one of which is by not littering in the forest.
  • Must not hunt wild animals
  • Man's obligation to the forest is not to hunt wild animals only to sell or use their body parts. This applies to all forest-dwelling animals, including endangered and protected animals.
